Have been coming here for about a year. Great vibes and the service is always friendly. The recent remodel looks amazing. that being said the macarona bechamel had cold meat when we went. But the sandwiches are always good, especially the spicy harissa falafel sandwich. Out of the 20 times I have been here those sandwiches have never done me wrong.

Love the new format and the food is great. As a vegetarian, I can still get my favorite spicy taameya sandwich and they’ve added some great Egyptian dishes - molokheya and Ocra. Perfect atmosphere for a fun dinner with friends or something more festive like a birthday or date. Service was top notch too.

A delicious fresh "homecooked -like" fast food. It is a lighter version of American Hamburger. The wrap and filling were delicious and flavorful, the falafel tasted good and fresh, and the eggplant was good. However, the ice tea tasted funky (like bad ice tea, not sure if it was supposed to tastelike that). The staff were not attentive. It took a while after we submitted our order. There was no other order after us.

So so yummy! i've been wanting to try to this place for a while and understand now why they have solid 4.5. Cool vibes, great food, reasonable prices. Can't wait to try their other dishes. I had the meatball plate and hibiscus tea (SO good). Heavy on cumin if that's not your thing but otherwise delicious and very filling.

Delicious. Everything was great but the falafel and the fries absolutely stole the show. The seasoning and flavors that they use here pack quite a punch. My only complaint is the service - it felt like they were trying to get us out of our table the entire time.

*update: went there recently and I believe they found the right balance between easy and convenient, while making it more modern and upscale. Still the best falafel and pita bread in the world, highly recommended!! *previous review: Food is still amazing, but now they changed to sit down with servers, limited menu, more complicated :-( bring back the fast casual model please!

Really neat ambulance. We went at 11am and felt a bit ripped out of morning time due to the ceiling-mounted colorful led lights. I believe this is a reference to the night life culture (not clubbing and drinking, just living in the night) of the Egyptian desert cities. Very interesting ambiance I quite liked it! The food was great, particularly the Hawawshi. We also got fries, which had a lovely seasoning on them but were a bit too thick cut to achieve any kind of crunch, and the beef liver pita, which was really flavorful and juicy and delicious. But the textures of the Hawawshi stole the show! Oh and the iced tea was delicious but very sweet, almost to the point of Sweet Tea from the South (Georgia & Alabama). Very fun to have a legit Egyptian street food spot here in Manhattan!

If you are in New York, you have to go here! Easily some of the better Egyptian food I’ve had (outside of my families kitchen and Egypt). I’ve been quite a few times and the food is consistently tasty and the service is great. You have to try the sauces, they elevate every menu item. The Hawawshi is my favorite, but you can’t go wrong with anything. The fries are incredible as well; seasoned perfectly and crispy and soft at the same time.
